I watched Indiana Jones 5 today.
As a fan of Indiana Jones, shouldn't I see it on the day it is released?
So, I did just that today.
But...
I'll start with my conclusion.
I was disappointed. A lot...
I had heard that Indiana Jones 5 wasn't well-received at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was previewed.
Additionally, the trailers didn't generate much excitement, so I went into the movie with my expectations as low as possible.
However, I have enjoyed even Indiana Jones 4, so I still had some expectations for this movie.
However...
I felt like I was watching a copycat of Indiana Jones with an aged Harrison Ford lookalike.
The movie tried to replicate the action and humor of the original Indiana Jones films, but it fell short in comparison.
The action scenes lacked tension and excitement.
In Indiana Jones, we're used to encountering various booby traps, but in this movie, they were nonexistent.
There was no thrilling confrontation with the main antagonist...
At best, there was a chase scene, but which is a standard element in recent action movies, so it didn't stand out.
To be honest, Indiana Jones 5 would have been better off not being made.
